Insurance Coverage for Lactation Support

Julie is in-network as a Lactation Consultant with Aetna, Cigna, United & more. We handle the billing so you can focus on your family.

How Billing Works

With in-network insurance plans, we handle billing directly with your insurance company. In the majority of cases, you will not owe anything besides our $50 travel/admin fee for each visit.

You will receive an invoice for this fee through the Practice Better Portal at the time of your visit.

Accepted payment methods: HSA/FSA cards, debit cards, and credit cards.

Verify Your Benefits

Aetna

Check your Aetna member portal, or call member services and ask about your coverage for lactation counseling (CPT codes 99344, 99349, 99401, 99402, S9443). Most plans cover at least 6 visits.

Cigna

Register your insurance information through Wildflower to verify your lactation benefits. Cigna usually covers at least 6 visits.

United Healthcare

Get pre-approved through The Lactation Network (TLN). TLN handles billing with other insurance companies too, including First Health, Imagine Health, Multiplan, PNOA, VA CCN, Velocity CCN, Aetna, Meridian & more. If you aren't sure if your insurance company works with TLN, complete the form to find out!

Other Insurance Plans

If you don't have one of the insurance plans listed above, you may want to contact us to see if your plan is covered. Even if we can't bill your insurance directly, you may be able to submit receipts for reimbursement. You will be charged the self-pay fee for services and you will be responsible for seeking out your own reimbursement. HSA/FSA cards are accepted. We can provide you with a superbill with the necessary CPT codes and diagnosis codes for insurance reimbursement.
